URGENT REQUIREMENT-BUSINESS ANALYST
A new opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Analyst with GI knowledge to work for a leading financial services company and a longstanding pension annuity provider on a 3 month contract.
Location:- Birmingham B5
Daily Rate:- £350 - £400 per day
Start:- ASAP
THE ROLE
To carry out high quality business analysis (including an element of project management and testing) on projects for change across the business by working with colleagues and management so that decisions made are fully informed and based on logically analysed and documented options to ensure the most effective outcome.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. To understand, assess and prioritise the business need for change by facilitating the collection of and then documenting the detailed business requirements, costs and benefits.
2. To investigate, analyse, document and present all potential solutions to meet the business requirements to ensure that the business fully understand the risks, issues, strengths, weakness, impact & benefit of each solution.
3. To create, develop and support detailed design specifications to facilitate process change, system development and testing of the agreed solution.
4. To assess and provide high level analysis, costs & benefits for all project requests for submission with recommendations to the Change Board.
5. To create, develop & maintain a strong working relationship with all areas of the business, through effective and appropriate communication of requirements, potential solutions, issues & risks, thus enabling strong negotiation and influence in the future with all levels of management & staff.
6. To Project Manage and/or System Test smaller projects and changes (Projects Under 30 man-days) in accordance with the agreed Legal & General Insurance project process and documentation.
7. To assist the Project Manager to develop the business case by analysing the project costs and benefits and then facilitation of and reporting on the post project benefits review to ensure that the business benefit has been met.
8. To work with other Business Analysts to develop, agree and implement best practise approach to Business Analysis ensuring that the needs of all recipients of documentation, both format and level of content are met.
9. To review advice given & the proposed system design/changes, throughout the project lifecycle, to ensure that the customer has been treated fairly in the light of all the circumstances and information that is available
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE
1, Ideally. Prince 2. CII (ACII, CIP Insurance qualification)ISEB Business Analysis .
2, A detailed understanding of systems that are used within GI, how they link together, both Hardware & Software. This will include Back Office Policy, Admin & Claims (I90) functionality, workflow & document management (Caseview, Formview & Imageview), Point of Sales systems (Giology, OLPC, EDI, GI Web), printing & MI..
3, A detailed understanding of how GI systems link/interface with other systems outside GI..
4, A detailed understanding of systems & databases that interface with L&GI systems. (e.g. CUE, Hunter, MID, MIAFTR, GCD, GMD etc).
5, A detailed understanding of the SAS " Detailed Data Store" (DDS) and "Extract Transform Load" (ETL) functionality used for Business Intelligence.
6, The ability to extract the required numerical information using various sources. (e.g., use of existing reports, I90 data using RPG, IBM query or SQL, Data Warehouse, data sampling etc.).
7, An awareness of systems developments underway.
8, An appreciation of other systems available in the market place.
